April 21 was World Creativity and Innovation Day! To recognize the day and celebrate 60 years of trailblazing innovation in the writing industry, Sharpie® announced an exciting initiative: the Sharpie Bus, a creativity hub on wheels. The bus will tour America to encourage and empower people to unleash their creativity. It will stop at festivals and events throughout the year, helping attendees embrace their creative side.
Visitors can test the new Sharpie Creative Markers on various surfaces, including black and white paper, wood, metal, acrylic, and tile. These brand-new markers make a bold statement on almost any surface without bleeding through.
The bus tour kicked off at the Main Street Arts Festival in Fort Worth, Texas. Future stops will include:
Gov Ball Music Fest (June 7-9) – New York, New York
Art Battle (July 4-6) – Chicago, Illinois
Ann Arbor Art Festival (July 18-20) – Ann Arbor, Michigan
Comic Con (July 25-28) – San Diego, California
Art Prize (Sept. 13-15) – Grand Rapids, Michigan
Krewe of Boo (Oct.19) – New Orleans, Louisiana
Art Basel (Dec. 6-8) – Miami, Florida
In addition to the bus tour launch, select Newell Brands locations celebrated World Creativity and Innovation Day with a Creative Closet. Employees were invited to pick from a Bubba® water bottle, tote bag, hat, or clear wristlet and decorate their items using Creative Markers. They doodled smiles, our brands’ logos, their names and more and were excited to test the new product firsthand. Cheryl Brooks, Senior Coordinator, Learning & Culture, said, “I’ve never seen a marker like this, where I can use any color and it will show on any surface. I’m fascinated by how well the color shows up!”
