As the world celebrates Giving Tuesday, a global movement encouraging us to give back, we reflect on the meaningful difference we made in our communities in 2024 through the Newell Brands Charitable Foundation, product donations, employee volunteerism and partnerships with organizations aligned with our business and values.

Our Local Impact Grant Program

We recently announced that we achieved our goal of donating $1 million to the communities in which we operate through our Local Impact Grant Program. Since the program’s launch in 2019, we have proudly donated to 86 nonprofits, including 20 multi-year recipients in 30 communities around the world, all nominated and voted on by our employees.

Product Donations

In 2024, thanks to the collective efforts of teams across the company, we donated nearly $6 million of Newell products to our nonprofit partners. As a result, we met our goal of donating $50 million in products over a five-year period. Donated items included Graco® baby gear to nonprofits supporting families in need, school supplies from Sharpie®, Paper Mate®, Elmers® and Prismacolor® to organizations that set underprivileged students up for success at the start of each school year, apparel from Marmot® that supported homeless shelters, Rubbermaid Commercial Products® Microfiber Cloths and BRUTE® Rollout Trash Cans that helped food shelters globally, and more, including disaster relief donations following Hurricanes Helene and Milton in the Southeast United States.

 Volunteerism

Our employees around the world volunteered their time to make an impact in the community. Here are just a few of the many initiatives that took place:

  • In Acuña, Mexico, employees hosted a donation drive, collecting essentials for Legacy of the Heart, an organization that supports homeless individuals and families in the area. The team also donated Oster® blenders for those being placed in new homes.

  • In Brampton, Canada, employees spent the day at Campfire Circle’s headquarters in Toronto, making slime kits and creating arts and crafts for children hospitalized in the area.

  • Following Hurricane Helene, employees in Huntersville, NC, hosted a donation drive for local nonprofits, such as Rescue Ranch, to support families and animals affected by the storm.

  • In Poznan, Poland, the team worked with CREO, a local volunteer organization, to revitalize the garden at a nearby nursing home.

  • In Scoresby, Australia, team members donated Sistema® lunch boxes to St. Kila Mums, a local charity that supports new mothers and babies in need.

  • Our Global Internal Controls team volunteered at Open Hand in Atlanta, GA, packing over 1,000 meals for the community's most vulnerable citizens.

 Our Philanthropic Partnerships

Our recently announced three-year partnership between Sharpie® and Paper Mate® and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America is off to a strong start. To celebrate, we hosted events at local clubs in Atlanta, GA and Bentonville, AR.

Our Matching Gift Program, which matches employee donations throughout the year to Save the Children and Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign, is about to complete its third year.

Our philanthropic efforts are an important element of our One Newell culture. As we look forward to 2025, our annual CommUnity Week will center around giving back to our communities. Follow along on our LinkedIn and Instagram to learn how we make an impact!
